Economic development consulting service offerings include the following:

Quick Assess – MSC will visit your community and provide an evaluation of the three primary components of your business (product, organization, and sales and marketing). This service is designed to be completed in three to five days, and will often be combined with a planning or presentation element.

Incentive Strategy and Design – MSC will provide incentive program comparisons, lead an effort to strategically align incentive policy with the community’s strategic plan, and provide design recommendations for new or enhanced incentive policy. This service is designed to be strategic and consultative in nature and completed in four to six weeks.

Organizational Design – MSC will provide organization design consulting to the emerging or evolving economic development organization. MSC will i) facilitate leadership alignment, ii) utilize its enterprise model, life cycle approach and market segmentation as a basis for establishing strengths, weaknesses and gaps in the organization, and iii) make recommendations for both short term and long term organization change. This service is designed to be strategic and consultative in nature and completed in four to eight weeks.

Site Certification Program – One of the fastest growing trends in the site location business is the demand for certified industrial sites. Companies looking to build new facilities want sites that are ready-to-go and relatively "risk free." MSC will design and implement a relevant certified site initiative to help communities identify those sites that are most ready for development. Principals at MSC have designed and managed four of the nation's most significant site certification efforts. Because of this experience, we know the challenges of establishing a successful program – we know what works and what does not. MSC knows what you need to do to create the buy-in and participation necessary to make it a success. We can help you design an innovative and effective certified site program to meet your goals.

Speaking and Presentations – MSC Principals and Senior Consultants are available for speaking engagements and training sessions. MSC’s expertise, as well as our presentation and training experience covers a wide array of topics including The Site Selection Process, Incentives 101, Marketing to Site Selection Consultants, and Prepared Communities Win. MSC will often combine a small group meeting (roundtable, staff discussion, etc.) with a presentation assignment, leveraging the time MSC spends in a community for the benefit of our economic development clients.
