McCallum Sweeney Consulting client, Nordex Gmbh, met with President Barack Obama, January 21, 2009 to congratulate him on his election and also to discuss the essential role of government in laying the groundwork for a vibrant renewable energy market. McCallum Sweeney assisted Nordex with site selection and incentive negotiations in a multi-state search that ultimately landed in Jonesboro, AR. Nordex’s Jonesboro operation will be an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) that will comprise every component of a wind turbine except the tower, including the manufacturing of rotor blades and the assembly of nacelles. The facility will have a target annual assembly capacity of approximately 750 megawatts (MW), with planned production to start by January 2010.
